The Meredith policy says don't be a dickhead. We've borrowed that and built In Cahoots around it.
This Code sets out what that means in practice. It is referenced in every Client Services Agreement we issue.
What it looks like
Country first. We work on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
Treat people well. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, faith, ability, age, or background. This applies to how we hire, who we work with, and the campaigns we produce.
Look after the team. Our team works during business hours. We do not expect anyone to respond outside them. We pay subcontractors at proper rates with no hidden margin.
Be honest about money. We charge for our time and our thinking. No markup on ad spend, no undisclosed kickbacks from suppliers, no pricing tricks. Clients pay pass-through costs direct, with full visibility.
Mind the data. Client information, audience data and campaign strategy stay confidential. We hold platform access on the same terms as our own and return or delete client data on request.
Values fit. Marketing in independent music sits inside funding chains and partnership networks we do not control. We do not pretend to audit every dollar back to its source. We discuss values fit at the start of an engagement so both sides know where we stand. Where a direct conflict with this Code becomes clear during the work, in a brief, a public stance, a partnership, or an instruction we are given, we will name it, talk it through, and if needed end the engagement under the Adverse Event clause of the Client Services Agreement.
If something's off
